Darkness comes at dawn - Jared Leto by arthawk87 Darkness comes at dawn - Jared Leto by arthawk87
:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:
Do not use in any way without my written permission!

So I decided to draw Jared Leto again, what's the big deal *tries to sound convincing*. ... Okay, it's a big deal for me, I love drawing him! And I'm pretty contempt with how it came out, too :la:.

It was quite the callenge, I never had to draw so tiny eyes before :D. I tried using a magnifying glass but that totally threw off my 3D vision. I got lots of headaches because of this drawing.

Time: 10-12 hours?
Size: 5.3cm x 14.1 cm / 2.09'' x 5.55'' (what you see here is the actual size of the drawing)
Materials:
:bulletyellow: HB mechanical pencil (0.5 mm)
:bulletyellow: 2H, 4H, 3B, 4B, 6B and 7B pencils from Derwent
:bulletyellow: Kneaded eraser, ruler, fixative and pen (for border)
:bulletyellow: Titel is from "Kings and Queens" by 30STM
:bulletyellow: I've used a screencap from this video as reference (Milan, 06/17/2011, filmed by TheMelnima)

Aaaaaaaaaand if you are interested in the tutorial, click this:

Hope you like it.

And what, it's so tiny!!?? Damn you and your tiny awesomeness, you really make me want to try my hand at tiny drawings ... Although I doubt I could make anything like this.

This is beautiful. Nice work with only a screencap as a reference. And, not surprisingly, I love the partial guitar ...

Why don't you give it a try :-)? I never would have thought that it was going to be fun. You shouldn't be afraid to try it because I'm sure that you will create something great!

You know, I start having a thing for guitars myself... :D

Oooh, if you start having a thing for guitars as well, we can start a support group! Guitarlovers anonymous, or something. :p

And hmm, I just might try to do something tiny ... and it's gonna be all your fault!!

GLA, sounds good :D. I'm in!

Oooh yes, you can blame it all on me :D. And hey, if you start doing tiny art, we could create a group here on dA. I don't think there is one yet, probably because it's not easy defining "tiny"...

Pfft, of course it's easy to define "tiny" - something much smaller than usual. There! I defined it. See how simple it would be if I ruled the world? (Or parts of it at least)

GLA it is. Does two people make a group ...?

... I think so, I think I read somewhere that a group is defined as at least 1,01 people who work together. So I by myself would be considered a group because of my several personalities which would be 3,14159... in human calculations. Hey, so would GLA already be considered a super group?

It totally would, and we wouldn't need all those points. What's so great about being a super group anyway?

Because of the 'super' in the name =p. Everybody would know we'd be superior! And everyone who joins us gets a guitar for free.

... Do you play the guitar, btw?

Thanks :-). I used mostly 6B and 7B pencils for the background. I applied several layers and for the last one (with 7B) I pressed really hard. Hope this helps :cuddle:

Well, yeah, it ended up ok, but usually the bigger/more detailed the piece is, the more time I have to mess it up. Something I tend to do quite a lot :XD:
