Finally finished this yesterday evening, after HOURS of layering, blending, highlighting, ranting... I'm not sure how I feel about it, I guess it turned out okay, even though there are some things that could have been done better.
Anywho, today I took it to my dad's office because he has an A3 scanner there. What. a. scanner! It showed me every fingerprint, pencil dust particle and unevenness. That's why I spent the last hour or two cleaning up the scan with PS (only the black background, because it looked like there was ash sprinkled over it). Plus it made it look flat and like I abruptly stopped blending into the background. Despite all that, this is the best picture I have ever been able to show you of the drawing. The WIPs suck, so I won't even bother showing them here.
It's Jared Leto, actor and singer of my all-time favourite band 30 Seconds To Mars. Back in January I saw this really awesome reference picture and thought that drawing it would be a nice activity for the afternoon... It turned out to be more than that, obviously, but when will I ever learn?!
There are some mistakes in proportion and I screwed up the light bulbs and the shirt. BUT I'm happy with how the face and hair turned out . And yay for having tried out something new.
